“What do I like about Strength School?
Firstly, in one word RESULTS.
Increased strength, muscular tone, joint stability and joint mobility are some of the gains I’ve experienced in just one semester of work.
Secondly, IT”S DOABLE.
45-minutes of training 3x a week right in your own home. It can’t be beat!
Thirdly, EXPERT SUPPORT, which in fact makes it all possible. With Stefanie, you get someone who is committed to health and wellness on your team.
Not only do you benefit from her years of personal experience, professional training and studies, but she is always there to answer your questions and give you extra support. The focus is on fitness training that gives you long term health benefits!
Stefanie’s program has helped me get from functioning to fit, healthy and resilient.
The best thing about this program is having a highly experienced trainer on your team who is also caring, personable and generous. We all get results that will serve us in the long term and we have fun doing it!”

What is Strength School?
Strength School is a 16-week, online program that combines strength training AND health coaching for maximum efficiency and results.
This program is comprised of four modules, with each one building and progressing on the previous:
Module 1: January 6 - 29 (Group coaching session on 1/31)
Module 2: February 3 - 26 (Group coaching session on 2/28)
Module 3: March 3 - 26 (Group coaching session on 3/28)
Module 4: March 31 - April 23 (Group coaching session on 4/25)
Strength School will not only provide you a solid foundation for your other activities, but it will also enhance how your body moves and functions in your everyday life!
Who is this program for?
This program is designed for women+ over 40 who want palpable results from fun and effective workouts done from the comfort of their own home.
In addition to strength training sessions, you get monthly group coaching to support you with your other health and wellness endeavors. The last Friday of each month we will meet over Zoom to discuss topics such as athletic recovery, nutrition, stress management, and sleep.
If you are looking for a more customized training experience where you can learn how to lift weights safely while maximizing your experience through health coaching, then the spring semester of Strength School is for you!
What equipment do I need?
1 pair of medium weights (10-15 pounds each; dumbbells or kettlebells) OR 1 heavy weight (20-30 pound dumbbell or kettlebell)
1 pair of light dumbbells (3-7.5 pounds each)
a yoga block
a washcloth/small towel
a chair
a mat
some wall space
What do the classes entail?
You will log into Zoom at the start of class (or a few minutes before if you have questions or wish to notify me of anything) and we will get going!
Each 45-minute training session begins with a dynamic warmup before moving into the strength workout. I will present options for making each exercise harder or easier, so depending on how you’re feeling on a given day, you can take the intensity up or down.
The last Friday of the month we will meet for group coaching. Bring a pen and paper and be prepared to participate in the conversation! We will discuss various topics related to wellness that support your exercise endeavors so you can get the most out of this program.
What benefits can I expect from doing this program?
Some of the benefits that accompany regular strength training include increased muscle mass and strength, building and maintaining bone density, feeling less stressed, better quality sleep, improved heart, brain, and overall health, just to name a few. Many students report feeling more confident and capable, and that they can go about their daily activities and hobbies with greater ease. Strength training is also a great way to reduce the risk of injury, which is important especially as we age.
What if I have an old injury?
If you have old injuries or limitations that may affect your ability to participate in certain exercises, please let me know ahead of time and I can provide you a modified version or alternative exercise. If you have questions or wish to discuss further, I am happy to connect and help you decide if Strength School is right for you.
Are classes recorded?
Yes, classes are recorded and uploaded to Vimeo by 10am PT on the same day. Recordings for the fall semester will be available for replay through June 6, 2025.
Do you offer sliding scale?
Yes! Health equity is important to me, so if you hold a marginalized identity, are a single caregiver, or are experiencing financial difficulty, please email me at stefanie.obregozo@gmail.com to request this option.

“Stefanie’s program is like nothing I have tried before. The training is very precise and I can feel exactly which muscles and joints I am strengthening. Stefanie's approach is very gentle and kind; she explains the exercises in detail, offering adaptations for different situations and checking if we need to make adjustments. I have not only felt an improvement in my strength and mobility, but I have also gained so much awareness of my body. Small group training has been a game changer for me!”

“I signed up for small group training because I wanted to improve my posture, which has happened, but I have also enjoyed learning how to use weights for the first time. I have been getting consistently stronger every month! Stefanie identified mobility limitations I had in my shoulder that were impacting my rock climbing and recommended specific exercises to help resolve the problem. It's great to have the accountability of a group workout plus the individual attention that Stefanie can give because it's a small class.”

“I have only been in Stef's classes for about 3 months and I already feel such a difference. I am stronger, more in alignment, and able to move with so much more ease and grace.
In the past when I've tried to work on core strength, I have noticed that my neck gets tighter and I get more headaches. Since working with Stef, my core and neck are getting stronger in a healthy way and I've had fewer headaches. Plus, I feel like I can actually do a proper push up for the first time in my life which feels so exciting and powerful!
Stef is not only incredibly knowledgeable and amazing at modifications, she is also kind, warm, and encouraging. I never feel intimidated in a class or worried to ask a question. I know I can show up to class right where I am.
Lastly, I really love being in the small group class for the connection and camaraderie. During every class Stef observes my personal form and can give me specific instruction and modification that help so much.
If you are wanting more strength and mobility, this is a gift of an experience.”
